Virginia Blue

Mrs. Virginia Blue, formerly of Ariton, Alabama passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Destin, Florida. She was 79.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Universalist Cemetery in Ariton with Jerry Sutton officiating and Fuqua- Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be held Tuesday from l p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home followed by a funeral procession to the graveside.

Virginia Myers Armstrong Blue was born January 1, 1925 in Ariton, Alabama.

She taught school for many years. Mrs. Blue was a past president of the Andalusia Association of Educators and a past president of the Pike County Historical Society. Her hobbies included reading and Genealogical research. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Brundidge. Her parents, Clara and W. L. Myers, preceded Mrs. Blue in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Johnann Armstrong; three sons, Elmer Myers Armstrong, Paul Thomas Armstrong and Bob Clell Armstrong; two step sons, Charles Baker and Jim Baker; two sisters, Jeanette Sloan and Gwen Myers; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
