Betty Edgerton

Mrs. Betty Edgerton of Troy died August 13, 2004, at home from a brief illness. She was 61. She was born October 26, 1942 in Barbour County. Alabama. She is preceded in death by her infant son, Hixon Wayne and her father, Charlie Singleton. She is survived by her loving mother, Vera Singleton, Troy; sister,

Dora Crocker of Troy; brother, Jimmy Singleton of Dothan; special friend, Bobby Johnston, Dothan; two special nieces, Sherry Cardenas of Troy and Dawn Jones of Luverne; two special nephews, Tracy Jones of Luverne and Chad Singleton of Troy and a host of friends and family. Special thanks to her caretakers, Freda Furr, Pam Sessions, Patty Jean Kline and the Sykes Family. Pallbearers will be Chris Furr, Donnie Kline, Patrick Kline, Freddy Bradley, Heath Griffith and Pam Sessions. Honorary pallbearers will be Kerri Outlaw, Faith Aldridge, Dot Mauldin, Kim Jordan, Anne Crawley, Don Grantham. Funeral will be Sunday, August 15, 2004, at 3 p.m. at Ramah Primative Baptist Church on Hwy. 29 North with Dr. Mallone Chandler and Chaplain Don Grantham officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. She will lie in state thirty minutes before the service at the church. Visitation was Saturday, August 14, 2004 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family requests memorials be made to Wiregrass Hospice of Troy.

Helen E. McKinnon

Mrs. Helen E. McKinnon died at her daughter’s home in Dothan on Friday, August 13, 2004.

Burial will be a graveside service at 11 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2004, at Greenhills Memorial Park, Troy, with Rev. Clifford Matthews officiating. Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2004, at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.

Survivors include her daughter, Ula Mae (McKinnon) Creamer and her husband, Lowell; two sons, Bill McKinnon of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Michael McKinnon of Troy; three grandsons, Scott Creamer of Gainesville, Fla., William Younce of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Bryan McKinnon of Troy; and five great grandchildren.
