Jimmy L. Atwell, Sr.
Services for Jimmy L. Atwell, Sr., 75, of Troy who died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at his residence will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Mack King officiating.
There will be a one hour lie in state before the service.
Burial will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in the Shiloh Community under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Atwell was born January 14, 1929, in Troy. He was a retired carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Dozier Atwell and Beaty Davenport Atwell.
Survivors include his wife, Ronnie Lee Atwell; sons, Jimmy L. Atwell, Jr., Robert Weston Atwell, Ronny Gene Atwell, Roger Allen Atwell, Ronald Henry Atwell and Wallace Nathan Atwell all of Troy and Charles Franklin Atwell of Alabaster; daughters, Ronnie Jewel Flinn and Shirley Marie Lee both of Troy, Katie Bradley Stuart of Enterprise and Destiny Atwell of Troy; 28 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Inez Ross; aunt, Gladys Register; two uncles, Russell Register and Rufus Davenport all of Troy and numerous other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Monty Pugh, Dax Pugh, Larry Shaver, Buck Campbell, John Campbell, Spencer Burkett and Allen Noah.

John Robert Cook
Services for John Robert Cook, 104, of the Josie Community who died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at his home will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Cary Sanders and Rev. Averyt Walker officiating.
There will be a one hour lie in state prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Ramah Cemetery in the Josie Community under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2004 at the funeral home.
Mr. Cook was born February 6, 1900 in Mauk, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert Cook and Molly Golden Cook Brooks; sister, Minnie Forsyth and an infant daughter.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Nellie Jordan Cook; 7 children, Louise and Ezra Black, Ouida and Eddie Cameron and Robbie and Gene Cameron all of Phenix City, C. B. Cook, Mary Dykes and Shirley Cook all of Banks and Clarence Cook of Opelika;
15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several great-great- and great-great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Bertha Benton of Banks and Lucille Green of Troy and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Home Health Services and Wiregrass Hospice.
The family request that memorials be made to the Ramah Cemetery Fund.
