Mary Shehane

Mrs. Mary Shehane, 59, of Newville, formerly of Clio, died Friday, July 16, 2004, at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Clio.

Rev. Don Clark and Rev. Charles Littlefield officiated the services.

Special music was provided by the family.

Burial followed in Blue Springs River of Life Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home of Clio directing.

Mrs. Shehane moved to Newville in 2002 to reside near her daughter. She attended Tumbleton Assembly of God Church and had worked as a teacher's aide with Vivian B. Adams School.

Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Leigh Shehane of Brundidge; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jarrad Bryant of Newville; mother, Mary Bawcum of Michigan; brother, Johnny Bawcum of Michigan and two grandchildren, Mason Shehane and Madison Bryant.

Pallbearers included, Bobby Bray, Bob Gleason, Dean Shehane, Jack Shehane, Kennith Williamson and Grady Bryant.

Honorary pallbearers included Billy Shehane and John Shehane.

George A. Helms

George A. Helms, 57, a resident of Hope Hull, died on Sunday, July 18, 2004. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Leak-Memory Chapel at 2 p.m. with burial to follow in Ramer Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 20, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his parents, Lewie B. Helms and Mary Etta Helms. Mr. Helms' survivors include his wife, Sharon D. Helms; one son, Steven Lee Helms (Susan); two grandchildren, Bradley Shapiro and Sammi Helms; three brothers, Lewie Davis Helms (Sandra), Walter Helms (Eleanor) and Wayne Helms (Sylvia) and one sister, Patricia Mitchell. Pallbearers for Mr. Helms' service will be Sellers Findley, Brian Findley, Christopher Mansmann, Bradley Shapiro, Wayne Duffell, Tony Bodiford, Nicholas Helms and Michael Helms.
