Vernon Jackson is a candidate for re-election to represent District 3 on the Brundidge City Council in the Aug. 24 municipal election.

Jackson said it has been a pleasure to serve with a mayor and council that has worked so well together to provide accountable leadership for the town's citizens.

"We have only had the city's best interest in mind," Jackson said. "We have made positive and industrial and economic growth and improvements have been made in the appearance of our city, but there are areas that need improvement. When I am re-elected, I will assure the citizens of Brundidge that I will be dedicated to work with our mayor, council members, the Brundidge Business Association and other organizations to promote progress and efficient municipal services to continue to improve the quality of life for Brundidge. I will be available to all Brundidge citizens."
