George Herbert Culver
Services for Mr. George Herbert Culver, 75, of Brundidge, who died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Troy Regional Medical Center, will be Saturday, May 1, at 4 p.m. at Oak Level Baptist Church in Cullman with the Rev. Jerry Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Level Cemetery in Cullman under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge. Visitation will be Friday, April 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.
Mr. Culver is survived by his children, Perry Culver, Shelia (Jim) Crane and Tim (Betty) Culver all of Brundidge, Robby (Kimberly) Culver of Cullman, Robin
(Warren) Brick of Madison and Rhonda (Charlie) Thomas of Cullman; his grandchildren, Mark Culver, Brian Culver, Alissa Culver, Nicholas Culver, Scott Crane, Jeff Crane, Eric Crane, Justin Culver, Dawson Culver, Teryn Bates, Caitlin Culver and Trey Thomas; his great grandchildren, Mathew McKenney, Hunter McKenney, Dylan McKenney and Dalton McKenney; and several brothers and sisters, Elvie Nix of Decatur, Ruth Southard of Hartselle, Milton Culver of Hillsboro and Laverne Culver of Cullman.
Virginia Louise Ragan
Services for Mrs. Virginia Louise Ragan, 81, of Troy, who died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery, will be Saturday, May 1, at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bullock County under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Visitation will be Friday, April 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Mrs. Ragan is preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Ragan.
She is survived by two daughters and a son, Barbara Ragan Atwell (Jimmy), Jane Ragan Taylor (Ronnie) and Billy Richards, all of Troy; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Kimberly Taylor, Joseph Hussey, Lynn Hussey and Chad Taylor; and great grandsons Jessie Hussey and Ron Taylor.
Richard Foster Jordan
A memorial service for Richard Foster Jordan, 35, of Louisville, Ky., who died April 17, 2004, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19 on Jekyll Island, Ga., at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel.
Mr. Foster, the son of Foster S. Jordan and Dr. Carol Jordan of Troy, worked as a medical malpractice broker with Market Finders Insurance Corporation in Louisville for 13 years. He began his career at Market Finders as a NAPSLO intern and achieved much for the company. He was well-known throughout the industry for his generosity, wit, and work ethic.
Survivors include his three children: Jacob (9 years old), Lelia (6 years old), and Conor (5 years old).
A trust has been established for the children by Richard's brother and his mother. Contributions in Richard's memory may be made to &uot;The Children of Richard F. Jordan&uot; and sent to Greg Jordan at 6143 Cambridge Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio
45230 or to Carol Jordan at 316 Orion Street, Troy, Alabama 36081. Other survivors include his brother, Greg, sister-in-law, Leslie and nephew Charles, as well as his grandparents Edith and Gene Baker of Martinsburg, W.Va.
