Clara Virginia Deese

Services for Clara Virginia Deese, 89, of Grady who died Monday, March 1, 2004 at her home will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday March 3, 2004 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Danny Reynolds officiating.

Burial will be in Hills Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Deese was preceded in death by two husbands, A. D. Harrod and Henry Deese and a son, Joe Harrod.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Peggy and James Doggett and Faye and Paul Wilson both of Grady; sister and her husband, Dorothy and Arthur Jones of Mobile; sister-in-law, Argie Harrod of Grady; five grandchildren, Melissa Harrod, Denise Daniels, Derek Wilson, Kenny Daniels and Joe Harrod, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Doggett, David Knighten, Johnny Nobles, Richard Parker, Keith Williams and Paul Wilson.

Honorary pallbearer will be James Doggett.

Bertha Bell

Services for Bertha Bell, 57, of Troy who died February 26, 2004 at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy will be at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 3 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Banks with Rev. Joseph Flowers officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Church Cemetery in Troy under the direction of George F. Grubbs funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bell was born July 22, 1946 in Hurtsboro. She received her education in the Russell County Schools and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Troy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Anderson Brundidge.

Survivors include her mother, Rosie Lee Brundidge of Troy; daughter, Mary Nell Tolbert of Troy; two grandchildren, Janelle and Justin Tolbert both of Troy; five sisters and husband, Rosanna and Jeff Davenport and Katie Mae Roberson both of Troy, Annette Borom, Delores Borom and Necee Borom all of Detroit, Michigan; brother, Anderson Borom, Jr. of Detroit; nieces, Monique Wheeler, Shawanda Stroud and Mary Jane and Horatio Blair all of Troy; special niece and her husband, Sheila Howard and Darrin Rhodes; four nephews and their wives, Marquise Wheeler, Johnnie and Charlotte Robinson and Keith Roberson all of Troy and James Earl and Keshia Roberson of Dothan; ten aunts and their husbands, Louise Newson of Brundidge, Ida Mae and Jerry Battle, Ethel and Ezchariah Riles, Iren B. Wynne and Corey B. Thomas all of Hurtsboro, Susie and Jimmie Levette of Enterprise, Annie Collins and Roszene Thorton both of Detroit, Selfie Lee Borom of Illinois and Wennie Long of Chicago, Illinois, one great aunt, two special aunts-in-law and other relatives and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Friends of the Family.

Flower Bearers will be Friends of the Family.

Jeanne Marie Moore Costa

A memorial service for Jeanne Marie Moore Costa, 85, of Troy who died March 1, 2004 at her home will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Craig Holmes officiating.

Mrs. Costa was born May 1, 1918 in Patterson, New Jersey. She was a retired homemaker and a loving mother and wife.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Stewart Moore and Edna Mae McLean Moore

Survivors include a loving husband of 64 years, William M. Costa of Troy; son, Donald S. Costa of Troy, New York; daughters, Nancy Hartman of Troy and Barbara Magistro of Wayne, New Jersey; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and expecting a third great-grandchild.
