E. G. &uot;Smut&uot; Smitherman, Jr.

E. G. &uot;Smut&uot; Smitherman, Jr., 76, a resident of Montgomery died Friday, February 6, 2004, after a courageous fight with cancer. Funeral services were Monday, February 9, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel with Dr. Jay Wolfe officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Smitherman is preceded in death by his parents, E. G. Smitherman, Sr. and Saydee Hicks Smitherman and one sister, Betty Ann Crisswell all of Montevallo. He is survived by his wife of 46, years, Sue Beasley Smitherman, one son, R. Todd (Terri) Smitherman, one daughter, Pamela Sue Smitherman (Jason) Hallford, two nephews, Mark Crisswell of Montevallo and Troy (Becky) Crisswell, and one niece, Alyssa Crisswell all of Calera, three granddaughters, Ashley Claire Hallford of Montgomery, Erica Lynn Smitherman

and Amanda Laine Smitherman of Duluth , Georgia and one aunt, Laura Scholz of Birmingham. Active pallbearers were

Mr. Ide Carr, Jr., age 62, of Pensacola, Fla., died February 9, 2004. Funeral services for Mr. Ide Carr, Jr. will be at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Pensacola Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Alton Butler and Rev. Ron Lentin officiating with Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The wake was held Tuesday, February 10, 2004,

from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Corey Mathew Brown; his father and mother, Ide Carr, Sr. and Nellie Carr of Ariton and a brother, James Carr of Bay Minette. He leaves behind his lovely wife of 41 years, Judy Ann Mobley Carr of Pensacola; one daughter, Kalesha Carr of Pensacola; one son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Kim Carr of Pensacola; five grandchildren, Cameron and Haley Barnett, Aaron, Arriene and Darin, Jr., all of Pensacola; one pet, Sunda; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Johnny Mitchell of Troy, Billie Lunsford and Mirl Pritchett of Union Springs; one brother-in-law, Bobby Mobley and sisters-in-law, Virginia, Foley, Al. and Gail Mobley of Troy. Mr. Carr was a native of Ariton and a decorated Civil Engineer Graduate and retired 30 years from Navel Air Station of Pensacola. Serving as pallbearers will be Steadman Peed, Cortland Peed, Shon Mobley, Shae Mobley, David Mobley and Aaron Carr. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to one's favorite charity.
