Troy Regional Medical Center will sponsor a memorial service for Dr. James Eugene Thomas this week.

The service begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Park Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Rascoe officiating.

&uot;We want to invite the public to come out and participate in the memorial service,&uot; said Jennifer Ventress, director of nursing at TRMC.

Thomas died Monday, Dec. 15, from injuries sustained in a car wreck. He had opened his medical practice in Troy in 1979 and was on staff at Edge Regional Medical Center until retiring in 2002.

Janie Louise Walters

Services for Janie Louise Walters, 73, who died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at her home in Grady are at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Minister Danny Reynolds officiating.

Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Cemetery in Highland Home under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation is today from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband Robert Walters of Grady; children Leon (Anita) Walters of Grady, Randy (Patricia) Walters of Prattville, Violet (Bobby) Gallups of Prattville, Anita (Ken) Johnson of Hope Hull, David (Nancy) Walters of Grady; grandchildren Michael Walters, Robbie Walters, Rebecca Walters, Chrissy Johnson, Billy Johnson, Chelsey Walters, Tiffany Mann, Tyler Walters, Frank Walters, Anthony Gallups, Bradley Gallups; great-grandchildren Megan and Matt Walters; brothers Felix Reeves of Lapine, Lamar Reeves of Lapine and Eddie Reeves of Louisiana; sisters Verla Meredith of Prattville, Cecile Reeves of Ramer, Georgia Wallace of Prattville and Lena Cousins of Sylacauga.

Pallbearers are Derrick Boshell, Jerry Green, Eugene Jones, Dan Sewell, Michael Walters and Robbie Walters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Odyssey Health Care Foundation, 1345 Carmichael Way, Montgomery, AL 36106.

Aubrey H. Snellgrove

Aubrey H. Snellgrove, 77, of Springhill died Friday. Dec. 19, 2003, at Baptist Hospital.

Services will be held at Springhill Baptist Church Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kenny Horn officiating.

Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

He was a retired Alabama State Trooper with 28 years of service. He then worked with Pike Farmers Coop for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, Joan M. Snellgrove of Springhill; daughters, Sandra Crawford of Lake Bay, Wash., Carol Snellgrove of Dothan, Deborah Thompson of Troy and Sharon Santana of Orlando, Fla.; sons, David Snellgrove of Birmingham, shelby Snellgrove of Troy; five grandchildren,

Anneke Johnson of Washington, Derrick Thompson of Troy, Dejie Thompson of Troy, Jason Santana of Orlando, Fla., and Leslie Doty of Troy; three great-grandchildren; a mother-in-law, Olive McDonald of Nova Scotia; and a sister, Margaret Daniels of Texas.
