Abraham Mendoza Jr.

Services for Abraham Mendoza Jr., 33, of Troy who died at his home Tuesday, November 18, 2003, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy.

Burial will be at a later date in California.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his cousins, Dino and Stephanie Ienni of Troy and Luciano Ienni of Troy.

Elmer (Iny) Thaggard

Services for Elmer (Iny) Thaggard, 88, a prominent farmer and businessman from Crenshaw County, who died Thursday, November 20, are 2 p.m. Saturday, November 22 at Turner's Chapel with the Revs. Jerry Hogwood and William Leverette officiating.

Burial will be at the Rutledge Cemetery under the direction of Turner Funeral Home.

Visitation is 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Turner's Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Thaggard began his career as a farmer and supplier of farming equipment and supplies. He was a Ford dealer (T&B Motor Company) from 1959 until 1999, and was also the founder of City Finance Company, a local loan company that he began in the early 1950's and is still in operation today.

Mr. Thaggard is survived by his wife, Era Merle Thaggard, two daughters, Linda (Brooks) Flint of Luverne and Janice (Felix) Norman of Montgomery. Other survivors include: brother T.L. (Cotton) Thaggard of Montgomery; sisters Armojean Beasley of Rutledge, Irene Johnson of Montgomery and Ruby Folsom of Union Springs; four grandchildren, Sloan (Tommy) Lusk, Jarret (Tammy) Flint, Jud (Becky) Flint and Lindsey (Andy) Kimbro; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Flint, Andrew and Anna Katherine Kimbro, and Emory and Thomas Lusk.

Pallbearers are Jarrett Flint, Jud Flint, Tommy Lusk, Andy Kimbro, Homer Sexton, Terah Beasley, W.L. Massey and Robert Nichols.

All are invited to attend.
