Annette Boswell Wiley
Graveside services for Annette Boswell Wiley, a resident of Montgomery who died Wednesday September 10, 2003, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
A memorial service will be held at 3: 30 p.m. on Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery.
Burial will be under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held at the family home at 3613 Summer Hill Court on Friday, September 12th. from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Mrs. Wiley was born in Troy in 1918 to Clifton and Sally Mae Boswell. She moved to Montgomery with her husband, Oliver Wiley and their two children in 1951. She was one of the early members of St. James Methodist Church and in later life transferred her letter to First United Methodist Church. She served in a multitude of church activities and volunteer groups throughout her life and was described as an inspiring example of Christian faith to her family and many, many friends. She faithfully cared for her husband during his long illness. Her fondest wish was that those left behind should "Live life to the fullest, with love and service to all!"
Mrs. Wiley was preceded in death by her husband, of 51 years, Oliver C. Wiley in September of 1991.
Survivors include a son, James McCaleb Wiley of Decatur, Georgia; daughter, Susan Wiley Oaks of Austin, Texas and a grandson, Brian Wiley Oaks of Dallas, Texas.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Wesley Fellowship Class of the First United Methodist Church and the Friendship Class of St. James United Methodist Church.
The family request memorials be made to The Memorial Funds of St. James Methodist Church or First United Methodist Church or to the donor's favorite charity.
