Foy D. Helms

Services for Foy D. Helms, 73, of the Bluff Springs Community who died Saturday August 02, 2003 at his home was at 2 p.m. Monday August 04, 2003 at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Revs. Jimmy Smith and Tom Senn officiating.

Burial was in Perdue Assembly of God Church Cemetery under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday August 03, 2003 at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Jo Helms of Bluff Springs; daughters, Cindy Long of the Enon Community and Kareen Henley of Corinth; grandchildren, Christopher Flowers, Perry Flowers, David Flowers, Amanda Flowers, Billie Ann Oliver, Richard Long and Ethan Henley; great-grandchildren, Foy Flowers and Paige Oliver and a sister, Alvernice Galimore of Elba.

Pallbearers were Christopher Flowers, David Flowers, Perry Flowers, Blakely Helms, Brandon Helms and Richard Long.

Benny Sanders

Services for Benny Sanders, 57, of Goshen who died Sunday August 03, 2003 at Jackson Hospital will be at 11 a.m.Tuesday August 05, 2003 at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Revs. Lavon Davis and Andy Blackmon officiating.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Goshen under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday August 04, 2003 at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herschel John Sanders.

Survivors include his wife, Nell W. Sanders of Goshen; step children, Shana and Jason Hunt of Goshen, Judy Burns of Smith Grove Kentucky and Jimmy Phelps of Troy; step grandchildren, Cindy and Carmen Burns of Smith Grove, Kentucky, JoJo and Matt Meredith of Banks and Wesley Phelps of Germany; mother, Elender West Sanders of Goshen; sisters and their husbands,

Cora and Bill McMaster of Goshen and Ann and Robert Dunn of Banks; brothers and their wives, Wendell and Ann Sanders of Enterprise, Lewis and Elaine Sanders of Goshen, John and Phyllis Sanders of Dothan, Jimmy and Kay Sanders of Pike County and Harry and Becky Sanders of Brundidge. He is also missed by nineteen nieces and nephews and fifteen great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Matt Dunn, Adam Sanders, Alex Sanders, Andy Sanders, Caleb Sanders, Jared Sanders, Woody Sanders, Todd Sanders, Scott Sanders and Tim Sanders.

The family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Effie Galloway Hughes

Effie Galloway Hughes, a resident of the Echo Community in Dale County, died Saturday afternoon, August 02, 2003, in the Oakview Manor Health Care Center in Ozark. She was 89.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 04, 2003 in the Brown's United Methodist Church with Rev. Marquis M. Wingard and Minister Jimmy Mathews officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Holman- Headland Mortuary directing

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brown's United Methodist Church, c/o Erma Lois Sheffield, 533 East Eufaula Street, Ozark, Alabama, 36360.

Mrs. Hughes was born and reared in the Brown's Methodist Community in Dale County, daughter of the late John Albert Galloway and Elizabeth Brown Galloway. She lived most of her lifetime in Echo but had lived in Troy with her daughter for the past five years. She was a member of the Brown's United Methodist Church and also the Brown's Community Cottage Prayer Group. Mrs. Hughes was formerly employed by Wex Tex Manufacturing Company in Headland for twenty one years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mixon Hughes, a son, Charles David Hughes, two sisters, Ruby Galloway and Mary Ella Adkins and also a brother, Fred Galloway.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Linda Hughes Grice and her husband, Robert Grice of Troy; four grandsons and

their wives, Charles and Carol Hughes of Echo, Rob Grice of Enterprise, Steve and Angie Grice of Troy and Phillip Grice of Birmingham; five great-grandchildren, Stacey Phillips and her husband, Andy Phillips, John Stephen Grice, Jr., Adam Grice, Jordan Grice and Eli Grice; a great-great-granddaughter, Katelyn Phillips; sister and her husband, Erma Lois and Al Sheffield of Ozark; two brothers and their wives, Ray and Lois Galloway of Skipperville and John Albert, Jr. and Betty Galloway of Skipperville; sister-in-law, Mattie Galloway of Skipperville, brother-in-law, J. W. Adkins of Ozark and several nieces and nephews.

Brad Alan McMillian

Services for Brad Alan McMillian, 16, of Troy who died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003 in Brantley, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Springhill Emanual Church in Springhill with the Rev. Wilburn Kirkland officiating.

Burial will be in the Perdue Assembly of God Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Mr. McMillian was born Dec. 6, 1986 in Pike County, the son of Clyde McMillian and Vickie Sheets. He was a student at Zion Chapel High School.

Survivors include mother and step-father: Vickie and Jimmy Sheets, Troy; father and step-mother: Clyde and Margaret McMillian, Brundidge;

brother and sister-in-law: Andrew and Brandie McMillian, Troy; sister

and brother-in-law: Shannon and Eugene Jarman, Troy; nephews: Bradley Jarman, Jimmy Lee Jarman, Zachery McMillian. nieces: Elizabeth Jarman, Haley Jarman, and Abigail McMillian, several aunts and uncles.
