The Troy City Championships of tennis were decided in doubles action Sunday, but the singles finals will be held today.

Mike Davis defeated Sohail Agboatwala in one singles semifinal Sunday 6-3, 6-3 to advance to today's championship match. Davis will face Chuck Carter, who defeated Jack Byars 6-3, 6-4. The singles championship will be today at 6:30 p.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.

Davis and teammate Steve Brown won the doubles championship Sunday. Agboatwala-Byars was the victim in the final match. Davis-Brown defeated Agboatwala-Byars 7-6, 6-3 Sunday to claim the city title in doubles.

Bob Lambert and George Merritt defeated Kevin Jackson and Bill Emerson 7-6, 6-4 for a third-place finish. The fifth-place trophy went to Ken Cox Jr. and Chuck Carter, who defeated Benny Pinckard and Ken Cox Sr. 6-2, 6-1.
