"Wow! Look at that one, daddy !" Before the little one could get a reaction from her father there was another burst. "Oooo, neat!"

An estimated crowd of more than 2,000 filed into Troy's SportsPlex for the Parks and Recreation Department's annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show Friday night.

"It's good," said Morgan Allen, 11, of Goshen. "It's really neat and I'm glad I came."

Allen was just one of many who viewed the 22-minute fireworks display.

"It's a lot better than home fireworks," Allen said.

"We had more cars than we ever had for a July 4 fireworks show," said Dan Smith, parks and recreation director.

Pyrotechnico, a national fireworks company with offices in Montgomery put on the display.

"I think it was the best they ever had," said Royce Richards. "We come every year."

Richards and his wife Ingrid said they enjoyed the show more at the SportsPlex than at Troy State, where the shows had been held in the past.
