Yvonne Wier Grubbs

Services for Yvonne Wier Grubbs, 64, of Troy, who died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, will be at 4:30 p.m., July 5, 2003, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, with the Rev. Bobby B. Cox officiating, the Rev. Samuel Smith Pastor.

Burial will be in the Carroll Street Cemetery under the Direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home.

Mrs. Grubbs was born Oct. 27, 1938, the daughter of Jesse B. and Tryphenia D. Wier.

Mrs. Grubbs received a B.S. in Business Education, Alabama A & M University and a Master's in Elementary Education, Troy State University. She was a Troy City School System Elementary teacher and Co-owner of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc., and the Alabama Funeral Directors and Mortician's Association.

Mrs. Grubbs was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her mother, Tryphenia F. Grubbs; husband of George F. Grubbs; children Jessica D. Grubbs-Pelham (Timothy); G. Yvette Floyd (James); Adjoa Grubbs; grandchildren Christian J. Floyd; George Chandler Floyd; Camryn G. Floyd.
