Jewell L. Jinright

Services for Jewell L. Jinright, 85, of Troy who died Thursday June 19, 2003 at her home will be at 3 p.m. Friday June 20 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Revs. Steve Rascoe, Lavon Davis and Gerald Maddox officiating.

Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday June 19 at the funeral home and will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday June 20 at the funeral home.

Survivors include a husband of 67 years, W. B. Jinright of Troy; sons and their wives, Terry and Kaye Jinright and Jerry and Bobbie Jinright both of Troy; daughter and husband, Carol and Tommy Floyd of Eufaula; eight grandchildren and their

husbands and wives, Lynn and Frank Gissendaner, Natalie and Russ Ferraro, Carrie and Scott Woodson, Betsy and Joe Leigner, Amy Floyd, Tom and Jane Floyd, Ross and Taylor Jinright and Russ Jinright; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons.

The family request memorials be made to Wiregrass Hospice or Union Hill Methodist Church.

Jessie M. Howell

Jessie M. Howell, 71, of Henderson died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.

Services will be held Sunday, June 22, 2003, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial with military honors will follow at Henderson Memorial Cemetery in Henderson with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy from 6-8 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James W. Howell of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Ruby D. and Ivison Henderson of Montgomery.

He was born April 20, 1032, in Pike County to Charlie and Ola Qualls Howell. He served 21 years in the armed services, during which he served our country in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. Later, he was the rural mail carrier in Glenwood and Luverne for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Juanuta S. Howell; two daughters, Faye H. Pitts of Henderson and Sue Carter of Williamson, Ga.; five grandchildren, Mendy and Shane Vickery, Jessie W. Pitts, Leslie Carter, Kyle Carter and one great-grandson, Turner S. Vickery; surviving siblings and their spouses include, Billy P. and Ann Howell of Dogwood Acres, Roger and Sarah Howell Christensen of Houston, Texas, and Dee Howell of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Pallbearers will be friends of Mr. Howell and honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.

Nettie Mae Barr

Services for Nettie Mae Barr, 83, of Troy who died June 19, 2003 at her home will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Dr. Malone Chandler officiating.

Burial will in Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, June 20 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. Mrs. Barr will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Barr was born Aug. 22, 1919 in Pike County, the daughter of Reubin Clarence Atwell and Naomi Jones, who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Lunnie F. Barr, great-grandson Matthew Trawick, four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jack Moses of Pensacola; Margaret and Wade Sikes of Troy; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Register of Troy; special niece Margaret Flowers of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
