Anne Julia Adams

Anne Julia Adams, 84, of Troy died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Magnolia Lodge. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church of Troy with the Rev. Tim McQuitty officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, at Skeen Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church from 10-11 a.m. the day of the funeral.

A graveside burial will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery. She was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Montgomery to Eugene Clarence and Pearl May Lashley. She was a teacher and historian. She was a native of Montgomery and a 1938 graduate of Huntingdon College and received a master's degree in history from the University of Alabama. She was an instructor at Alexander City Junior College and an archivist for War College at Maxwell Air Force Base. She was a lifelong Biblical Scholar and Bible teacher and taught numerous Bible studies in Montgomery, Pine Level and Troy. She was a wife and mother of four children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Douglas Adams in 2000, a brother, E.C. Lashley Jr., and a sister, Roberta L. Dobbs.

Survivors include two sons, Hugh Douglas Adams, Jr. of Highland Lake and Charles Eugene Adams of Lawrence, Ks; two daughters, Lynda Adams Taylor of Troy and Gentry Adams Hassett of Troy; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Hattie May Halse of Montgomery and Dorothy L. Douglas of Savannah, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Doug Adams, Colvin Taylor, Thomas Taylor, Harrison Taylor, Clifton Hassett and Steve Tyson.

The family requests memorials be made to Wiregrass Hospice of Troy to Covenant Christian School Library.

Sharon Jones

Services for Sharon Jones, 36, of Columbus, Ohio who died Sunday June 08, 2003 at Mt. Carmel Hospital in East Columbus, Ohio was at 11 a.m. Saturday June 14, 2003 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Level with Rev. William Davis officiating.

Burial was in Old Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Pine Level under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was at 12 Noon Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. Jones was born June 24, 1966 in Queens, New York. Her father was Robert L. Young and her mother is Della Young of Columbus, Ohio. She was a graduate of Mifflin High School in Columbus and was an employee of Lucent Technology in Columbus. She fellow-shipped with various churches of the Columbus, Ohio Community.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Young.

Survivors include a daughter, Alliyah Young of Columbus; mother, Della Young of Columbus; four aunts, Beverly Dixon, Lottie Young and Ginger Young all of Miami, Florida, special aunt, Alice J. Toney of Columbus and several cousins, family members and friends.

Pallbearers and flowerbearers will be relatives and friends.

Mr. John Emil Harden

Mr. John Emil Harden, 84, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 16, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home 4048 Macon Road Columbus, GA with Dr. Ed Helton officiating. A Private Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 n 8 at the funeral Home.

Mr. Harden was born May 18, 1919 in Pike County, AL and grew up there. He was the son of the late Quitman and Essie Harden. He had lived in Columbus for the past nine years. He was a member and a deacon of Morningside Baptist Church. He retired with 25 years of service for the Morrison Management Group.

He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Air Force. He is preceded in death by his parents Quitman Harden and Essie Harden.

He is survived by: His wife Mildred Langston Harden of 61 years of Columbus, GA; a son: Emil Harden and his wife Cindie of South Windsor, CT; a sister:

Willene Renfroe of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren: Chris, Alex, and Megan Maury- Harden of South Windsor, CT; and many nieces, nephews and cousins

Laurie Shirley Revill

Laurie Shirley Revill, 76, of Troy died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Edge Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at 1 p.m.

She is survived by her husband, Jessie Frank Revill of Troy; a son, Jessie Frank Revill Jr. of troy and a cousin, Dr. Sheridan Shirley of Birmingham.

Gussie Gibson of Troy died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at his home.

There will be no visitation. Friends are to meet at 10 a.m. at Green Hills Cemetery on Monday, June 16, 2003.

Graveside services will be Monday, June 16, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Green Hills Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Pallbearers will be Fred Minchew, Art McKnatt, Jerry Spurlock, Jr, Stuart Wells, Johnny Gibson and K.T. (Bubba) Cole.

Honorary pallbearers will be Della Jean Tuck, Gene Booth, Bernard Pope, Jack Norton, Don Brown, Roy Poole, Gary Hughes, Dr. Ben Smith, Donnie Knotts, Jerry Reeves, George Gantt, The Outback Pickers, Harry Bullard, Glenn Bullard, Edwin Meadows and the employees of Bullard's Garage.

Memorial should be made to the Pioneer Museum of Wiregrass Hospice
