If approved by banking regulators, Troy Bank & Trust will find a new home in Brundidge soon.

The bank has made application with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to establish a branch at 117 S.A. Graham Blvd.

Bank officials say that the regulatory process to expand operations can be somewhat lengthy.

"We have made application to the FDIC and there's a regulatory process to work through," said Dianna Lee, marketing and public relations director for the bank.

Lee said that applications must be reviewed and approved by several different regulatory agencies.

"If everything goes well we hope to be operational by the end of the year,"

Lee said. "We are very excited about the prospect of joining the Brundidge community."

Applications for the branch expansion were filed with the state banking department and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. A copy of the application will also be reviewed by the Federal Reserve Bank.

Normally, those applications are approved in about 30 days, and after the public has had an opportunity for comment.

People wishing to make written comments on the application may forward those to the regional director of the FDIC at Suite 800, 10 Tenth St. N.E., Atlanta 30309.
