TPD seeks information on missing persons

The Troy Police Department is seeking information on a missing Troy couple.

According to information released by Chief Anthony Everage, Wilbur Gil Chancellor and his wife Sheila Joyce were expected to return home from an outing Saturday.

The two live with Gil's brother Merlin at 315 Owl Drive in Troy.

The couple was last heard from Friday afternoon around 3 or 4 p.m.

Merlin told police his brother had called to say he and his wife were going to Montgomery and then possible to Gantt.

A TPD detective contacted a source in Gantt who said the couple had not been seen and the police do not believe the couple went to Gantt.

The couple occasionally goes to Lake Eufaula and may have traveled there.

Sheila has several health problems and is taking medication for diabetes, high blood pressure and a heart condition.

Gil is a 54-year-old white male, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.

He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Sheila is a 59-year-old white female, 5 feet 1 inch tall and 130 pounds.

The couple's vehicle is a 1993 red Ford Aerostar van with the Alabama tag number 55A041F.

Eufaula Police, the Barbour County Sheriff's Department and the Covington County Sheriff's Department have been advised to be on the look out for the Chancellor's.
