And shine we did. Congratulations to the delegates for a successful event, and a special thanks to Troy State for going the extra mile to make these girls welcomed in our community.

Goshen pitcher Wesley Wright was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, and has a wonderful opportunity before him.

More than 125 children braved Saturday's wet weather for a chance to wet a hook at Pike County lake. For veteran fisher-kids and first-timers alike it was a great chance to 'get a hook' in for a favorite pastime.

The PATHS program, we learned, will be expanded during the next school year. Congratulations to the Troy city schools and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Pike County for a successful pilot program this year.

Finally, the Troy city school board prepared to interview candidates to replace retiring superintendent Hank Jones. Their work this week will set the stage for years to come. Good luck.
