Old Newsboys go to work for Relay for Life

Be kind if you find an "old newsboy" pounding the pavement today, hawking today's "Racing for a Cure" edition.

A whole host of volunteers from Team Messenger will be out in force raising money for Relay for Life by selling today's edition at a premium price.

It's all for a good cause.

Today we celebrate some of the volunteers and some of the victories in the fight against cancer.

Each volunteer will be trying to "sell" 25 copies of the newspaper for whatever donation can be offered. Hopefully, each will raise at least $50 that will go toward cancer research and and programs that support cancer victims and their families offered by the American Cancer Society.

Please be generous.

Volunteers all across the county are working diligently to see that cancer is ultimately defeated.

The Race for a Cure edition is but one of those endeavors.

Cancer touches virtually everyone's life in some way at some time. It only makes sense that everyone contributes in the fight against it.

Together, Pike County can make a difference - and help win this war.
