Opportunities abound to support good causes

Pike County is all buzzing with activity. The next several days will prove no different with a number of worthy events taking place.
At the Colley Senior Complex in Troy, it's black-tie time. Colley's Gala takes place Saturday at 7 p.m.
All the elements of a great time are in place: music, food, fellowship and a silent auction, that is a major fund raiser for the senior center.
In Brundidge, Trade Day is also on Saturday. It's both an arts and c rafts show and a gigantic yard sale on the grounds of the historic Bass House downtown.
It's a big affair for the town and an event not to miss.
On the Relay for Life front, there's a basketball matchup at 6:30 p.m. between the faculty of Charles Henderson High School and Middle School. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students. The game promises to be a lot of fun and enjoyment.
There are plenty of other Relay events going on as well.
Pike Countians believe in supporting good causes, and that's an admirable trait. It's a trait that we can continue.
We urge our neighbors to get out and support the many worthy events in our community. In so doing we not only draw closer as a community, but also help many notable causes.
It's easy to become involved in a community fund raising event - either on a team, or by simply participating as a contributor.
We salute the many Pike Countians who donate their time and talents to making sure each and every one of these events come together. We salute the Pike Countians who donate their money to support those ventures.
