Our resolve must remain strong as war rages

With the precision bombing of a "target of opportunity" in Baghdad, a "Coalition of the Willing" led by more than 250,000 American troops began Operation Freedom began Wednesday night.
The start of the much-expected war with Iraq was perhaps less dramatic and overwhelming than many experts had expected. But, even though only two airstrikes had taken place by presstime, military leaders and the president were quick to point out that many, many more attacks would follow. We are, as they reminded us, at war.
As the president said Wednesday, "Our nation enters this conflict reluctantly - yet, our purpose is sure."
Our resolve and strength must be equally as strong.
As a country, it is time for us to rally behind our military leaders; our political leaders; and, most important, our soldiers who are fighting this war. We will pray for a decisive and quick end to the war; for liberation of Iraq; for the removal of Sadaam Hussein; and the safe return of our loved ones.
And we must hold fast to the words of our president, who said: "We will pass through this time of peril and carry on the work of peace. We will defend our freedom. We will bring freedom to others and we will prevail."
God Bless America.
