Beatrice Stubinger
Services for Beatrice Stubinger, 82, of Troy who died Sunday March 16, 2003 at her home will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday March 18, 2003 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Revs. Marvin Jackson and Frank Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday February 17, 2003 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stubinger was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Linzey; son, Herman Linzey and a grandson, Danny Linzey.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Stubinger of Troy; son, Jerry Lindsey of Troy; daughters, Gail Broadway of Troy, Jeri Tolbert of Montgomery and Carolyn Linzey of Troy; ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Chris Cordle, Kenneth Harris, Dave Hart, Randy Peaveyhouse, Mike Rhodes and Mark Taylor.
Nicholas Costees
Nicholas Costes, 76, of Troy, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, from complicatiosn of cancer.
He was born in Farrell, Penn., Aug. 3, 1926, to the late George and Eva Costes.
He received his master's degree in education from Boston University and went on to become a professor of kinesiology at Troy State University. He was a pioneer in the field of long distance running, with numerous honors, including representing the United States in the marathon in the 1956 olympics in Melbourne, Austrailia, and membership in the Road Runners Club of America Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Harris and a son-in-law John Harris of Nicholasville, Ky., and two grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Harris.
A memorial service will be held at Troy State University at a date to be announced.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Troy State University Library.
Sampley, Tabatha Lynn
Miss Tabatha Lynn Sampley, 17, a resident of Troy, died on Friday, Mar. 14, 2003. Funeral services were held on Monday, Mar. 17 at Danielville Baptist Church with Rev. Harry Driggers and Rev. David Tadlock officiating. Burial followed in Perdue Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Her father, Ronnie Sampley preceded Miss Sampley in death.
Survivors include one sister, Ashley Kelley, Richmond, Va. and one brother, Shawn Smith, Georgiana; a very loving Nanny and Papa Gerald; a very loving family of several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a dear special friend, Lee Kelley. Active pallbearers were Adam Frazier, Chad Horne, D.J. Chambers, Brandon Frazier, Ben McGough and Justen Campbell.
