Mary Lee Cowart

Services for Mary Lee Cowart of Goshen, 85, who died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Crenshaw Community Hospital will be at noon Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Goshen First Baptist Church in Goshen with the Rev. Jonas Rodgers officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel A.M.E. Cemetery in Goshen under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be at noon Friday, March 7, 2003, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cowart was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Pike County. Her parents were John Perry and Ella McCullough Wood. She attended the Pike County Schools. She was a member of Goshen First Baptist Church where she sang in the adult choir and a member of Son's and Daughter's of Levites.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Cowart, Sr.; three children, Wiley, James and Dave ;three sisters and seven brothers.

Survivors include five children, Minnie Kelly, Eddie and Betty Cowart of Goshen, Ann and Earl Davis of Hillside, New Jersey, Arthur and Rena Cowart, Monroe Cowart, Jr. of Jersey City, New Jersey; sister, Minnie Simmons of Cleveland, Ohio; 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Madine Cowart; three sisters-in-law, Alice M. Cowart of Glenwood, Annie Wood of Troy and Willie M. Wood of Jersey City and several nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons and friends

Flower bearers will be granddaughters and friends.

Addison Olivia Gross

Addison Olivia Gross, infant daughter of Barry and Amber Kirkland Gross of Valdosta, Ga., died Sunday, March 2, 2003. She is survived by her parents, a brother, Dalton Lee Gross, and a sister, Reagan Faith Gross. Addison Olivia is also survived by her maternal grandfather, Charles "Pawpaw" Kirkland of Wicksburg; paternal grandparents, Edwin "Poppa" Gross and Betty "Bebbie" Gross of Deatsville;. several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Judy "Mimi" Kirkland of Wicksburg; her aunt, Tina Gross Portis and first cousin, Chandler Elizabeth Kirkland, both of Montgomery.

A Memorial service will be held at Central Avenue Church of Christ in Valdosta on Thursday, March 6, 2003, at 7 p.m. Parents will take visitors following the service at the church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Christian Home Church of Christ in Wicksburg

with graveside services following. The family request memorials be made to Southeastern Donor Services, 340 Boulevard, N.E., Suite 404, Atlanta, GA, 30312. Carson McLane Funeral Home of Valdosta and Byrd Funeral Home of Dothan are in charge of arrangements.
