Verrie Mae Snider
Services for Verrie Mae Snider, 97, of Troy who died Monday February 24, 2003 at Pike Manor Health Care Center will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday February 26, 2003 at Little Oak Methodist Church with Revs. Michael Gray and Andy Blackmon officiating.
Burial will be in Little Oak Methodist Church Cemetery in the Little Oak Community under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday February 26, 2003 at Little Oak Methodist Church.
Mrs. Snider was preceded in death by her husband, G.L. Snider and grandchildren, Nicky Locklar, Kim Snider and Amy Snider.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Jerry and Allene Snider of Troy; three daughters and their husbands, Faye and Rex Locklar of Henderson, Hazel Gray of St. Petersburg, Florida and Betty and Ralph Shirley of Goodhope; grandchildren, Anne Bodie, Michael Gray, Gary Gray, Paul Gray, Kevin Shirley and Britt Snider and nine great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Little Oak Methodist Church.
The family request memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
Willie Maxine Fortune
Services for Willie Maxine Fortune, 85, of Brundidge who died Monday February 24, 2003 at Ozark Nursing Home will be at 11 a.m. Thursday February 27, 2003 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge with Rev. Richard Holmes officiating.
Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery in the Center Ridge Community under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge.
Survivors include a son, Chester Fortune of Brundidge; granddaughter and her husband, Amanda and Jason Snell of Opp; grandson, William Chester Fortune, Jr. of New Hampshire and a niece and her husband, Arthurine Briggs and Dan King of Ozark.
Julia Evelyn Long
Services for Julia Evelyn Long, 81, of Troy who died Monday February 24, 2003 at her home will be at 2 p.m. Thursday February 27, 2003 at Hephzibah Baptist Church with Dr. Don Hatcher and Rev. Greg Aman officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday February 26, 2003 at the funeral home. She will lie-in-state at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Gordan and Ouida Simpson, step mother, Lucille Simpson, grandson, James Robert Rhodes and two brothers, Ray and Eugene Simpson.
Survivors include a husband of 61 years, J. P. (Curley) Long of Troy; two sons and their wives, Dennis and Lulene Long of Montgomery and Bruce and Beth Long of Troy; two daughters and their husbands, Glenda and David Pinckard of Wetumpka and Dianne and (Bill) Rhodes of Montgomery; sister, Mary Lou Lowe of Riverview, Florida; two brothers and their wives, Sonny and Gail Simpson of Graniteville, S.C. and Bobby and Sandra Simpson of Sandersville, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Tony Pinckard, Russ Pinckard, Christy Garland, Kevin Long, Amanda Kovich, Mark Rhodes, Jamie Long, Chase Long and Ryan Long and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
The family request memorials be made to the Hephzibah Baptist Church.
