Huey J. Allen

Services for Huey J. Allen, 73, of Brundidge, who died Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at his home will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 01, 2003, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy, with the Revs. Keith Reynolds and Ara Allen officiating.

Burial will be in Union Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Brundidge under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2003, at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Benford Allen; a brother, Mizell Allen and a granddaughter, Brittany Nicole McLeod.

Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Barbara Allen of Brundidge; sons and their wives, Steve and Susie Allen of Baker, Fla.; Ray Allen of Crestview, Fla.; and Jerry Allen of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; a daughter and her husband, David and Ann McLeod of Panama City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Gregory Allen, Brandon McLeod, Timothy Allen and Kevin McLeod; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewey and Dorothy Allen of Brundidge and Victor and Juanita Allen of Brundidge; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and James Dykes of Columbus, Ga.; Iris and Elwood Broxon of Crestview, Fla.; Marie and Larry Cook of Wing and Linda and Ricky Suggs of Florala.

Pallbearers will be the nephews.

Louise M. Cannon

Services for Louise M. Cannon, 79, of Troy who died Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at her home will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Troy, with the Revs. Samuel Smith and Bobby Cox Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Marianna A.M.E. Cemetery in Clayton under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be at noon Friday, January 30, 2003, at the funeral home.

Ms. Cannon was born September 26, 1923, in Clayton. Her parents were Henry Kysier and Lillie Collins.

She attended the public schools in Barbour County, was an avid seamstress, member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church where she served on the Stewardess Board, an affiliate of the Marianna A.M.E. Church in Clayton and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 12. She also enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include: three granddaughters and their husbands, Patricia and Charles Florence of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Glayrine and Theo Smith of Union Springs and Kawanda Stewart of Caryville, Fla; six step grandchildren and their husbands and wives; one loving and devoted granddaughter, Angela Cannon of Troy, Glynell Cannon, Sheila and Christopher Davis of Troy, Rosetta and Willie Shipman of North Carolina; Willie and Saundra Cannon, and Yvonne Cannon both of Los Angeles, California; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Kendall of Clayton; aunt, Grace Scarver of Mt. Andrews, two nephews and wife, Shellie and Pricilla Collins of Troy and Larry Collins of Hyattsville, Maryland and a step daughter Rosalyn Cannon of Troy.
