Valley Mae Jinright Barr, 78, of Troy died Saturday, July 1, 2000 at Pike Manor.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Revs. Robert P. Barr, Dean Vonfeldt and Clifford Mathews officiating. Burial will be at Enon Cemetery in Josie with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Marie (Larry) Vonfeldt of Troy and Regina Hartzog of Troy; four sons and daughters-in-law, Buren (Rebecca) Barr of Montgomery, Morris (Carolyn) Barr of Phenix City, Adrian (Sharon) Barr of Troy and the Rev. Robert P. (Sheila) Barr of Chickasaw; one brother and his wife, J.P (Ruth) Jinright of Troy; sister-in-law, Ila Jinright of Columbus, Ga.;16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D. B. Barr and a grandson, Tim Barr.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Northside Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Baptist Church.

Jerry Dean Richards

Jerry Dean Richards, 63, of Brundidge died Monday, July 3, 2000 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at Springfield Baptist Church with the Revs. Chuck Blair and John Enfinger officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Richards of Brundidge; one son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Charlotte T. Richards of Jack; one daughter, Inga Richards of Brundidge; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Goldie Richards of Troy; one brother and sister-in-law, James Earl and Lillian Richards of Troy; one sister-in-law, Frances Yeomans of Brundidge; several nieces and nephews.

A native of Pike County, he was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.

Visitation was held Monday at Skeen Funeral Home in Brundidge.

Mattie Ethelyn Young

Mattie Ethelyn Young, 90, of Shady Grove, died Saturday, July 1, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2000 at Shady Grove Cemetery with Minister Jimmy Mathews presiding. Dillard Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Survivors include her son William C. (Bill) Young of Shady Grove, two granchildren, Billy Young of Montgomery, Stefanie Young of Montgomery; a sister-in-law, Olivia Sellers of Shady Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Autis Young.
