Trojans women’s tennis team knocks off UALR, 6-1

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – In one of its most dominating efforts of the season, the Troy State women’s tennis team defeated Arkansas-Little Rock, 6-1, Friday afternoon to extend its season-best winning streak to six matches.

Troy State improves to 8-2 on the season and 2-0 on its current seven-match road trip. UALR drops to 3-6.

For the sixth time this season, the Lady Trojans won the doubles point with a sweep of all three doubles matches, including Carolina Aravena and Talia Flores’ 8-2 win at the No. 1 position.

In singles action, Troy State claimed victories at the top five spots. Sally Linden and Luisa Lopez turned in impressive wins as they dropped just two games apiece to their UALR counterparts.

The Lady Trojans will travel East on Interstate-40 for a match at Memphis, Saturday at 9 a.m. Central Time before returning to Arkansas to face Arkansas State in Jonesboro on Sunday at 2 p.m.
