The Troy State Track and Field program will host the TSU/Nike Invitational this Saturday, Apr. 8, at the James H. Colley Track in Memorial Stadium. The field consists of 21 teams with several nationally-recognized athletes competing unattached.

Jason Burgens knocked a three run homer in the bottom of the fourth to help Goshen defeat Brantley 12-5 yesterday at Eagles Field.
Several Trojans will keep a close eye on NFL Draft
In its tradition-rich history, Troy State University has had 19 players selected in the National Football League’s annual draft. Only once, 1992 (Leonard Wheeler and Reggie Dwight) have multiple players gone in a single year. That should all change this weekend.

An RBI-single by senior second baseman Todd Lancaster in the bottom of the seventh inning drove home Foy Shemwell with the game-winning run in the second game of a Trans America Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader on Saturday, helping the Trojans sweep Samford, 11-1 and 4-3, at Riddle-Pace Field.

The Charles Henderson baseball team reached a milestone Monday with their 6-0 shutout of Eufaula, but the Trojans aren’t quite satisfied yet.

With several starters of the Goshen baseball team suspended for yesterday’s game against Calhoun, Eagles head coach Chad Dube said that his teams word for the day was "adversity."
Golden has big weekend for the Mets
Kyle Golden blew up over the weekend going 8-for-8 in two games for the Dixie Boys Regions Bank Mets en route to an 11-2 win over the Mariners Friday and a 10-3 win Saturday against the Careermen’s Club Padres.

The Geneva Panthers and the Pike County baseball team took a little batting practice at Brundidge Tuesday and when all was said and done, GHS had spoiled what could have been a huge Area win for the Bulldogs.
Two more Trojans sign free agent contracts in NFL
Troy State continues its contributions to National Football League teams this spring as defensive end Aaron Fields (Notasulga, Ala.) and tight end Lenny Lucas (Macon, Ga.) signed late Monday with the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings, respectively. Fields and Lucas are the 17th and 18th Trojans all-time to sign free agent NFL contracts upon completion of his eligibility.
