John Henry Barr, 85, of Glenwood died Monday, March 5, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy.

Services will be at noon on Saturday, March 10 at Clay Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Boykin officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

He was born to Nathan and Lela Barr on January 29, 1926 in Crenshaw, attended Pike County Schools and was employed with and retired from Henderson Black & Green.

His hobbies included farming.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Henry Lee and Patricia Barr of Goshen, Terry Barr of Goshen, John Earl and Mosetta Barr of Troy, and John Author Barr of Saratoga, Fla; six daughters and three sons-in-law, Mary and Johnny Owens of Troy, Beatrice and Anthony Finney, Sara Barr, Mary Harvis, Maeline and Matthew Cheathem, all of Goshen, and Dorthy Hilliard of Brundidge; three sisters, Ruby Magwood of Auburn, Carry Kent of Troy, and Francis Barr of Saratoga, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Rosetta Wilson of Dayton, Ohio, and Dell Fudge of Baimbridge, Ga.; one brother-in-law, John D. McMillian of Ramer; 28 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Finney, Frank Cheathem, Johnny Hooten, James Harvis, Willie McMillian, and Robert Youngblood.

Floralbearers will be Sharron Haynes, Lordorise Barr, Shrilan Haynes, Tilleader Tillis, and Kesha Finney.

Visitation will be 1-6 p.m., Friday, March 9 at Harrison Funeral Home.
