From Special Reports – Brundidge American Legion Post 145 swept Northview in a doubleheader, winning the first game 3-2 and the second 8-5.

Post 145, along with Troy Post 70, will travel to Dothan to play in Northview’s American Legion Tournament, scheduled to start on Thursday.

Post 145 plays Troy to open the tournament at 5:30 p.m.

Northview took a 2-1 lead in the first inning, but Brundidge responded with one run each in the second, fourth and fifth innings to claim the win. Wes Johnson hit a solo homerun in the game. Dale Garrett added an RBI and Scott Kirby scored a runner with a double into centerfield.

In the rematch, Northview once again took a 2-1 lead in the first before Brundidge scored four runs in the third to break a 2-2 tie. Garrett chipped in two singles and a double. Jonah McWaters and Johnson each had RBI singles and Brandon Hooks added four hits; three singles and a home run over the left field fence.
