Steve Stephens has been in business since 1993.
Stephens Auto specializes in vehicle body repair and paint for all make and models.
&uot;We can handle everything from a fender bender to a damage from a major accident,&uot; Stephens said. &uot;I grew up in the business, and I love what I do.&uot;
Currently, Stephens has three employees other than himself, and he said they all enjoy doing repair work.
The men at Stephens Auto strive to give the customer quality work and do what it takes to make the customer happy with their work.
&uot;We use top of the line DuPont paint and material,&uot; said Stephens. &uot;The customer may pay a little more, but they know they’re getting quality paint work and quality materials.&uot;
Stephens also said he offers free estimates to anyone with car damage.
He said he has about seven years experience with damage appraisel and he is willing to help people meet their insurance company requirements.
&uot;Also, if people have a problem getting to me for an appraisel, I will go to them,&uot; said Stephens. &uot;All they need to do is give me a call and set up an appointment.&uot;
He said he realizes that people don’t always have enough time or maybe they can’t get the car to his shop. Therefore, he makes himself more accessible by meeting the customers needs.
Stephens said he has lived in Troy since his family moved here in 1948. His wife, Thelma, is the secretary at Charles Henderson Middle School and they have three grown children.
He said he has spent most of his adult life working with or around cars, and can’t imagine doing anything else.
&uot;I like it so much that I would rather be doing the work out in the shop rather than the paperwork in the office,&uot; said Stephens.
Stephens Auto is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., and is located at Troy Motors on U.S. Hwy. 231 Bypass North.
