Haynes Ambulance has been successfully operating ambulatory service in Troy and Pike County since 1987.

In August of 2000, Haynes implemented a wheelchair service in addition to the very necessary ambulance service.

The Haynes Convalescent & Wheelchair Service was first started two years ago in Montgomery. There is now one unit in Troy, and Haynes has access to other vans in Montgomery and Union Springs, if they are needed. Union Springs, Troy, and Montgomery are the only cities in this region of Alabama that offer this service right now.

Haynes Convalescent & Wheelchair Service is used primarily as an alternate transport for trips to the doctor’s office, dentist, outpatient surgery, physical therapy, and for other non-emergency hospital visits. Haynes will also pick up patients from the hospital and provide transportation to their homes. Medicare does not cover the transport fees, but Medicaid vouchers, when given in advance, may be used for the service.

Haynes Convalescent & Wheelchair Service is also utilized for countywide and out-of-town transports, and for assisted living facilities. Haynes can supply wheelchairs for the transport if they are needed, which is a good service for clients with a fixed income.

Haynes Convalescent & Wheelchair Service is located at 217 Corman Avenue in Troy. Haynes Convalescent & Wheelchair Service is open five days a week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
