Ruth Elisabeth Schlehmeier
Services for Ruth Elisabeth Schlehmeier, 79, of Luverne who died Saturday May 18, 2002 at University of Alabama at Birmingham was at 2 p.m.Monday, May 20, 2002, at Hales Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Pullen and Rev. Neal Jackson officiating.
There was a 30 minute lie-in-state prior to the service.
Burial was in Hales Chapel Cemetery in Troy under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Werner Schlehmeier.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at the funeral home.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Jeff and Nancy Schlehmeier of Troy; two grandchildren, Paula and Daniel Wilson of Troy and Chris and Carlen Schlehmeier of Valley; two great-grandchildren, Kelsi Schlehmeier and Zack Wilson; two brothers and wife, Andy and Marjorie Springis of Rutledge and Gunnar Springis of Chesterton,
Indiana and a cousin, Evi Spearow of Luverne.
Pallbearers were Mike Floyd, Roy Holladay, Duntin Wilkins, Glen Wilkins and Daniel Wilson.
Ernest Harvey Dykes
Services for Ernest Harvey Dykes, 82, of Brundidge who died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge with the Rev. Roger Waldrop and Dr. Ellis Bush officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at the funeral home.
Mr. Dykes was preceded in death by his wife Norma Dykes and a brother Fred Dykes.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Charles and Beth Dykes of Prattville; daughter and her husband, Charlotte and Dwight Paul of Henderson; four grandchildren, Jacob and Jeremiah Dykes and Nicholas and Miranda Paul; brother and his wife, Frank and Lois Dykes of Brundidge; three sisters and husband, Frances Ingram and Eloise Dykes both of Brundidge and Exa and Zollie Pouncey of Troy.
