"(Lipscomb coach Amy Becker) gave me a list of the team’s priorities," White told the News Herald. "It was God, family, academics and then softball. It’s a Christian school and I felt comfortable there. I’m extremely happy. It’s a good fit."

White was recently named second team all conference as the No. 2 pitcher for the Lady Commodores and is currently 14-3 on the season. Her ERA is 0.87, but she also sports an impressive 3.81 GPA and will graduate with honors from Gulf Coast on May 9.

GCCC (40-10, 15-3) is poised to make another run in the postseason, winning the state tournament in 2001 and finishing the year as national runner-up.

White will be the first junior college transfer to play for Lipscomb, which is set to join the A-Sun next season, but will not compete against conference opponents until 2003-04.

White accumulated numerous awards while at Gulf Coast, which included being named to the Florida Community College Distinguished All-Academic Team. She was also a USA Today All-Academic Team nominee and is actively involved in community service around the Bay County area.
