Galvin Bates Petty

Services for Galvin Bates Petty, 81, of Troy who died Sunday April 07, 2002 at his home will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday April 10, 2002 at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Ronald Earles and Mr. Curtis Faulkner officiating.

Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Bullock County under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday April 9, 2002 at the funeral home.

Mr. Petty was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Petty.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Petty of Troy; son and his wife, Larry and Connie Petty of Troy; daughter and her husband, Linda and Bobby Outlaw of Troy; 4 grandsons, Jared and Justin Petty; Bobby and William Outlaw; 3 granddaughters, Penny Messick, Pamela Grissette and Bellia Watson; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Byron Petty, Lenoid Petty and Hubert Petty.

Pallbearers are Wilson Hickman, Bobby H. Outlaw, William Outlaw, Josh Watson, Melvin Watson, and Seth Watson.

Honorary pallbearers are Employees of Mutual Savings, Employees of Haynes Ambulance and Members of the Motor Carrier Safety Units.

Evelyn Todd McDaniel

Services for Evelyn Todd McDaniel, 90, of Pike Manor, who died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Edge Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Old Lebanon Baptist Church with the Rev. Perry Green officiating.

Burial will be in the Old Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

There will be a 30 minute lie-in-state prior to the service.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Allyne McDaniel Gibson.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Claire McDaniel and Jack M. Hix of Springfield, Va., and Martha McDaniel and Earl R. Childs of Deatsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Todd and Curtis Veal of Griffin, Ga.; a son-in-law, Gussie Gibson of Troy; eight grandchildren, David Todd Gibson, Dena Gibson Byars, Bryan Todd Hix, Jonathan Andrew Hix, Eric Christian Hix, Earl Bradley Childs, Brian Elliot Childs and Amy Childs Connell; and nine great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Old Lebanon Baptist Church.
