A committee will name the four winners during the week of April 22.

"This is a huge honor for me," Law said.

"Troy State has nominated others through the years. To be nominated was special, but to make it to the finals is truly an honor."

Law is the third student trainer from Troy State to earn this honor.

Lee Borcik was one of the four winners in 1997, and Tracy Causey was a finalist in 1999.

Over the past four years, Law has served as a student trainer with the Troy State football and women’s basketball programs while maintaining a 3.93 grade point average.

"Eric is well deserving of this honor," said Chuck Ash, Troy State’s Head Athletic Trainer.

"This is a great honor for him and for us as well.

It’s not very often that you run across a kid as special as Eric."

Law will graduate from Troy State in May with his degree in athletic training, after which he plans on attending the University of Alabama and then medical school.
