Women’s golf claims third at JSU

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Troy State women’s golf team fired a two-day score of 646 to claim third place at the Jacksonville State Chris Banister Gamecock Golf Classic.

TSU finished seven strokes back of tournament champion Murray State.

The Lady Trojans finished the first round of the tournament in fourth place. TSU picked up four strokes on tournament host JSU to claim their second top-three finish of the spring season. The Lady Trojans claimed second place at the Southern Shootout in Birmingham.

Junior Tracy Tidwell led the Lady Trojans to their third-place finish by firing a 13-over par 157 for the tournament. Tidwell finished in a tie with JSU’s Angie Green for sixth place.

Senior Jenny Tidwell shot a 158 to finished tied for eighth place.

The Lady Trojans will compete in the Lady Blazer Invitational hosted by UAB on March 25.
