School tax renewal vote is today

Today there will be a special election for renewal of the county’s education tax.
The vote is for the renewal of an existing schools tax that provides city and county districts each with about $1.1 million annually from the tax. The vote specifically renews a 9.7-mill levy for the county schools and a 10.7-mill levy for the city.
Polls open at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. March 12 for the countywide tax renewal vote. Polling places are as follows:

Department; China Grove – County Building; Linwood – County Building; Needmore – Childs Grocery; Troy – Adams Armoy; Saco – Volunteer Fire Department; Ebenezer – County Building; Josie – County Building; Enon – County Building; Shiloh – Fleming Store; Banks – City Hall; Park Memorial Church; Brundidge – Haisten Building; Tennille – Trawick Sign Co.; Hamilton Cross Roads Church; Tarentum – Community Club house; Springhill – Volunteer Fire Department; Little Oak – County Building; Galloway Road Community Center – Brundidge; Springhill Housing Authority; Pike County Courthouse – Troy; First Baptist Church – Troy; Henderson – Volunteer Fire Department; Goshen – Volunteer Fire Department; Rural Home – Community Building; Shellhorn – School Building; Oak Bowery – Church of Christ.
