Tickets for the upcoming folklife play in Brundidge, "Come Home, It’s Suppertime!" will go on sale from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday in downtown Brundidge.
Dinah Kelsey,
ticket committee member, said a booth will be set up in front of Dykes Drugs on Main Street for the convenience of those who want to get their tickets hot off the press.
Play dates are April 5, 6, 12 and 13 for the premier performances of the "We Piddle Around Theater." Tickets are $15 each and include "supper" and the play.
"We will have seating for 100 at each of the four performances," Kelsey said. "We hope that each performance will be a sellout so we encourage everyone to get their tickets early."
Tickets will be available at other locations to be announced and by calling 566-7363 or 735-2044 or sending a check or money order to The Brundidge Historical Society P.O. Box 337, Brundidge, AL 36010 or 4386 County Road 59, Troy, AL 36081.
The old Brundidge city hall building is being renovated for use as a community theater and Kelsey said the work is moving as planned.
"The city of Brundidge has been very generous in permitting us to use the building and in helping to get it ready for opening night April 5," Kelsey said. "We have many people who are working to make a community theater a reality for Brundidge and the enthusiasm for the project is contagious. Everyone is excited and we believe the "We Piddle Around Theater" is going to provided many fine arts opportunities for the citizens of Brundidge and the surrounding area as well as enhance the downtown area."
"Come Home, It’s Suppertime" is a production of the Community Theater Company of the Brundidge Historical Society and made possible, in part, through a grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
