Southeast Regional: Lady Wildcats upset Eufaula

Eufaula had two players finish with double-doubles. Sharita Porter had 21 points and 14 boards, while Crystal McKinnon added 12 points an d12 rebounds. Kenita Thomas added 18 points.
Class 5A Girls
No. 9 B. T. Washington 63
Stanhope-Elmore 38
Booker T. Washington was unstoppable inside, scoring 40 points in the paint and defeating the Lady Mustangs 63-38.
The Golden Eagles outrebounded Stanhope 42-27 in the game. Natorya Sanford had 16 points for BTW, now 18-8 on the year.
Latasha Jackson scored 12 to lead Stanhope.
Class 5A Boys
No. 2 Stanhope-Elmore 83
Valley 54
In the boys Class 5A Southeast Regional semifinal game it was no contest as the second-ranked Mustangs downed Valley High School 83-54.
Catavious Davis scored 31 points as the Mustangs delivered the knockout punch with a 40-point third quarter.
Stanhope had led 30-25 at halftime.
John Michael Richardson added 17 points and John Julian had 13 also for Stanhope-Elmore, which improved to 28-5.
Charles Newton and Terrance Flouring had 13 points each for Valley. The Rams fell to 14-13.
Eufaula 69
Shelby County 60
The Eufaula Tigers pulled off a big upset with a 69-60 victory over 20-win opponent Shelby County in the other boys semifinal region contest.
Johnathan Lilly scored 29 points for Shelby County, but the Tigers placed four players in double digits. Rodney Jackson led the way with 20 points.
The Tigers shot 61 percent in the game while holding SCHS to 39 percent.
