An altercation which took place between Charles Henderson Middle School principal David Helms and a Troy woman at Food World Monday morning resulted in one arrest and future charges may be pending in the case.

According to information released by Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage, the altercation allegedly occurred when Helms entered the Food World store on Brundidge Street between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., to discuss a matter with Mattie P. Hendrick, 38, of Montgomery Street, Troy, concerning her child.

According to Troy Police Department Public Information Officer Benny Scarbrough, after the alleged altercation between Helms and Hendrick, Helms had a warrant sworn for Hendrick, who was later arrested and charged with harassment, which is a misdemeanor.

Wednesday, Chief Everage said the incident is still under investigation and future charge(s) may be forthcoming.
