at Quincy High School, he starred three seasons for his father and coach, Jeff Ray, breaking 40 Northern Section career records in the process

finished his career with 6,080 career passing yards, 6,944 yards total offense and 90 total touchdowns, all Northern Section records

finished with 65 career touchdown passes, which was just two shy of the section mark
