Pike sweeps Dixie

Courtesy Dothan Eagle – The Patriots of Pike Liberal Arts School improved to 8-8 on the year with a 48-47 overtime win over ninth-ranked Dixie Academy on Tuesday night in Louisville.
Layton Sanders hit a basket at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime. Jared Waldrop, who had 14 points in the game, sank the winning shot with 4.8 seconds left in overtime.
Brandon Hooks had 15 to lead Pike, while Druid Conrad had 11.
The Lady Patriots upped their record to 12-4, beating the Lady Rebels, 54-38.
Lindy Lunkenheimer’s 16 points and Beth Anderson’s 13 points helped PLAS overcome an first quarter, 9-1 deficit to Dixie.
PLAS plays at Abbeville Christian on Thursday night.
