After his career-high 43 point, 10 rebound performance against Florida Atlantic, Troy State’s Lamayn Wilson named the Atlantic Sun Conference men’s basketball player of the week today.

Wilson helped lead Troy State to two wins over UCF and Florida Atlantic last week.

He scored 20 points against UCF on Thursday, while saddled with foul trouble for much of the game.

He followed that up with his career-outing in which he scored 37 points after halftime, including 11 of Troy State’s 17 points in the second overtime.

His 10 rebounds gave him his second double-double of the season and the fourth of his career.

"Saturday night Lamayn played on a different level," Troy State head coach Don Maestri said.

"We needed someone to step up against Florida Atlantic, and he answered the call."

Wilson’s 43 points is the second highest point total for an individual since Troy State moved to Division I in 1993.

Detric Golden holds the record for most points in a game with 45 against Jacksonville on Feb. 5, 2000.

For the game, Wilson was 15-of-22 from the floor, including 3-of-7 from behind the three point arc.

He was perfect from the free throw line, hitting all 10 attempts.

On Thursday night against UCF, Wilson came out firing, hitting his first seven shots and finished the game going 8-of-13 from the floor.

He was also 4-for-5 from behind the arc.

Wilson, who was named to the A-Sun preseason all-conference team, is second in the conference in scoring, averaging 20.1 points per game.

The Trojans (9-5, 5-2 A-Sun) travel to take on Stetson on Thursday night.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
