Henry Still Sr.

Henry Still Sr., 80, of Ramer died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001 at his residence, Route 1 Box 465 in Ramer.

Services will be at noon, Monday, Dec. 31 at Bethel Methodist Church in Orion with the Rev. Carl Davis officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove C.M.E. in the High Ridge Community with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Still was born Dec. 18, 1921 in Pike County to Sam Still and Mary Owens Spivey. He was retired (E-5) from the United States Army. He was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Orion and Terrance Lodge #180.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Norma Jean Still; one daughter, Stephanie (Greg) Fenderson of Montgomery; seven sons, James Still of Tuskegee, Gregory (Laura) Still, Kenneth Still, Gerald Still, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Charles Still of California, Reginald (Monica) Walker of Atlanta, Ga. and Robert (Paulette) Lee of Troy; two sisters, Ruby (Daniel) Holliness of Birmingham and Annie Laura Jackson of Troy; two brothers, Sammie Lee Still of Cleveland and Benjamin (Mary) Still of Pensacola, Fla.; devoted in-laws, Thomas and Sweetie Johnson of Pine Level; a devoted nephew and niece, the Rev. Walker (Sadie) Still of Pine Level; two sisters-in-law, Minnie Owens and Mary Still, both of Pine Level; a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Masonic brothers will serve as pallbearers. Eastern Star sisters will serve as floralbearers.

Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Monday.

 

Sara Price Eddins Cumuze

Graveside services for Sara Price Eddins Cumuze, 80, of Auburn will be Monday, December 31, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. in Green Hills Cemetery, Troy, Ala, with Dr. George Mathison officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2001, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Frederick’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Green Hill Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. pm on Monday.

Mrs. Cumuze died Friday, December 28, 2001, at Wesley Terrace Nursing Care in Auburn.

Mrs. Cumuze was born in Feb. 17, 1921, in Dawson, Ga. to Benjamin and Jettie Price. She was married to Charlie Bruce Eddins, now deceased and lived in Troy, Ala for 43 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and was employed by Rosenberg’s Dept. Store for many years. In 1992 she moved to Auburn United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Tony Cumuze, Sr., an infant daughter, and a brother, Kermit Price of Dothan, Ala.

She is survived by two daughters, Gina (Ted) Wilson and Annette (Larry) McGhee, both of Auburn; three step sons, Tony (Mary Jo) Cumuze Jr. of Savannah, Ga., Mack Cumuze and Tim (Vickie) Cumuze of Birmingham, Ala.; three sisters, Ercie (Albert) Vosbein of Slidell, La., Dorothy (William) Cauley of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mary Stocker of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Frederick (Evelyn) Price of Dothan, Ala. and Ralph (Virginia) Price of Texarkana, Texas and four grandchildren, Bradley Wilson, Shannon (Allan) Lowery, Molly (Rod) Foster and Benjamin McGhee, all of Auburn.

The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial

contributions be made to Hospice of East Alabama Medical Center or the Wesley Terrace Fountain of Love.

Grace M. (Griffin) Sanders

Services for

Grace M. (Griffin) Sanders, 82, who died December 25, 2001, will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 5370 Dayton-Liberty Road, with the Rev. John Paul Smith officiating.

Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m.

She was born August 16, 1919 in Springhill, Alabama and lived in Troy the majority of her life. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for more than 50 years and served faithfully in

several ministries of the church, until her health failed.

She was

preceded in death by her parents, one sister and seven brothers.

Survivors include her husband Joe Sanders; four loving daughters, Annie Jewel (Bill) Brady, Jurlene Stewart, Ella Marie Sanders, Alice Jean (Jimmie) Johnson, all of Dayton; one devoted son Willie (Loretta) Flowers of Winter Garden, FL; three sisters Mattie (Eugene) Glenn of Dayton, Mary Jean (Isaac) Ginyard of Seattle, Wash., Margaret (Lewis) White of Montgomery; three brothers, James Edwards of Tampa, Fla., Melvin (Evelyn) Griffin of Birmingham, Coy C. (Marlene) Griffin of Troy; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, a host of relatives and friends, dearest friend Sylvia Smith of Michigan, special sister-in-law Ruby Griffin of California, cousin, Eva Lou McGuire of Brundidge.
