Rie Ann Bell

Rie Ann Bell, 89, of Troy died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001 at Hillview Terrace Nursing Home in Montgomery.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21 at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Bland, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.

Mrs. Bell was born Sept. 14, 1912 in Troy to John Will and Annie Starks Whaley. She attended Pike County public schools and was a retired commercial cook. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church and Silver Star Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #12. She loved cooking and sewing.

Survivors include a very fond niece, Lucile (J.B.) Youngblood of Columbus, Ohio; Linda (Frank) Muhammed of Cincinnatti, Ohio; Dorothy Ann Roger of Troy; a devoted grandniece Alfaye Youngblood of Columbus, Ohio; a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers. Floralbearers will be members of the Silver Star Chapter 12 of the Order of Eastern Star.

Brenda Lunsford Harrelson

Brenda Lunsford Harrelson, 48, a resident of Deatsville died on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001 at her residence.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21 at Prattville Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Duran Serrer officiating.

Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a genuine friend to all.

Mrs. Harrelson is survived by her beloved husband, Billy Ray Harrelson of Prattville; daughter, Beverly Lunsford Campbell of Troy; four sisters, Elizabeth L. Grissett of Talladega, Margaret L. Kendrick of Andalusia, Bernice L. Anderson of Dothan and Diane L. Harrelson of Troy; two brothers, Foy E. Lunsford and Jimmy C. Lunsford, both of Troy.

Ralph Stanley "Jack" Childs

Ralph Stanley "Jack" Childs, 74, of Troy died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001 at the Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center in Montgomery.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy. Burial will be at Williams Memorial Cemetery on Needmore Road with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Mr. Childs will lie in state from 9-10 a.m., prior to the service.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Voncile Childs of Geneva; sons and wife, Jackie and Jan Childs of Dothan, Jimmy Childs of Birmingham, Johnny Childs of Brundidge, Terry Childs of Troy; daughters and son-in-law, Doris and Junior Parrish of Brundidge, Sheila Smith of Vernon, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, J.W. Childs of Geneva and Charles Childs of Troy; two sisters, Marjie Valentino of San Antonia, Texas and Dorothy Gorman of Troy.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., today at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.

Aubrey Barron

Aubrey Barron, 72, of Troy died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001 at Pike Manor Health Care Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Revs. Craig Holmes and David Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his wife, Jannette Barron of Troy; son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Barron of Troy; three grandsons, Danny (Jackie) Barron, Drake (Heather) Barron and Curt Barron; three great-granddaughters, Hillary Barron, Nicole Barron and Ariel Barron; three sisters, Carolyn Hester, Dorothy Jean Rosles and Lois Wood; two brothers, Edward Barron and Charles Barron.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dewey Barron.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
