Florence Doggett

Florence Doggett, 99, a resident of Pike Manor Health Care Center in Troy and formerly of Pine Level, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at her residence.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Orion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Anders officiating, Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Annie Laurie and Amos Broadway of Pine Level, Betty and Roger Buchanan of Albertville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Davis and Helen Doggett, Clyde and Faye Doggett, all of Troy, James and Peggy Doggett of Grady; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Doggett; a granddaughter, Shirley Lancaster a grandson, Greg Buchanan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Orion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Mary Frances McLendon Smithson

Mary Frances McLendon Smithson, 57, of Montgomery died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery with Dr. Danny Shadix officiating. Burial will be Monday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. in the Bethel Cemetary in Banks with Leak-Memory Chapel directing.

Smithson was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Jordan; a daughter, Jeania Renee Donaldson; a son-in-law, Bobby Donaldson; two sisters, Alva Renfroe and Mae Dean Kilpatrick; a brother, Gus McLendon; and a grandson, Cory Donaldson.

Pallbearers will be Kanah Best, Lewis Anderson, Grady McInnis, Bobby Outlaw, Wayne Rambo, and Samuel Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Long and Winn Dixie friends.

Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel.
