They played well and went far, and represented Pike County well.

The Pike County High School Bulldogs fell in the semi-final round of the Class 3A state playoffs, but not before earning a 10-3 record during regular and post-season.

After losing the first two games, the Bulldogs rallied and won their next seven games of the season. During the playoffs, the team beat three of the top 10 teams in the state.

The Bulldog players worked hard to win those games this year, and their hard work and persistence carried them to the playoffs. That, combined with successful coaching and supportive fans and parents, helped create a football season that will be remembered by many here in Pike County, and not just those who attended Pike County High School.

Two other teams Charles Henderson and Goshen also made it to the post-season playoffs, representing their schools and their teams well.

We salute the young student athletes who persevered and triumphed on the gridiron this year, and we thank them for the contribution they make to their schools, the sport and the community.

These young men, their coaches and their families are truly winners in all our eyes.
